PASSAGE

The Passage is an accessible item of landscape architecture that is at home in parks. The design was influenced by a theoretical discussion of the findings of French ethnologist Arnold van Gennep regarding today's everyday rituals. Van Gennep was concerned with the perception and exploration of ritual and symbolic behaviour. In life, there are many interfaces through which we enter into a new phase again and again. The Passage symbolizes how people get to know and love each other.
